Real Madrid announces the end of contract with Benzema
Spanish club announces that it has reached an agreement to end the bond. The striker played for 14 seasons and became one of the most important players in the club's history.
Real Madrid announced on social networks the end of the link with French striker Karim Benzema this Sunday morning. There were 14 seasons playing for the merengue team, since he arrived at the club in 2009, aged 21. Alongside Marcelo, the striker holds the record for winning titles for Real, with 25 trophies. Benzema thus ends his 14th season at Real Madrid. He has 647 games with the Meringue shirt, scored 353 goals, provided 165 assists and won the Champions League five times with the club's shirt.
He leaves Real as the second highest scorer, behind only Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 450 times with the Meringue club's shirt.
